Past Life Regression Therapy: What's It All About?

Do you believe in reincarnation? Do you believe that we have travelled in time through many lives, many bodies, gathering experiences and learning lessons? Well, there is fact in this supposed fiction, and healing as well!

We are caught in the dimensions of time – past, present, and future. Our experiences – the good, the bad, and the ugly, and the expectations, joys, and sorrows make up what we are in a particular reference of time and space. Now, the intriguing part is that whatever happens in our life happens for a reason – nothing is random, or a coincidence.

So why do things happen in our lives, why do we meet certain people, what is the reason behind our elations, troubles, and fears? The reason is karma. Didn’t get it? Karma, simply put, indicates the cause and effect relationship of our actions, across time. According to the laws of the Universe, for every action you perform, there is something that you will get in return – this may be through incidents that occur in your life, or through the people that you meet. So an action in the past is the seed of some event in the present.

What does the past hold?

To continue on that note, many of us hold on to certain behavioural patterns, positive or negative, that impact our actions, relations, health, progress, energy, enjoyment – almost everything. These patterns seem to be set in stone; try as we might, we are unable to shake them off. This is because the roots of these behavioural patterns lie in the past – actions, unfulfilled purposes, an incomplete learning etc.

Why go back to the past?

The argument is, if we can go back to the past and understand or realise where our present experiences have sprung from, we can release the recurrent patterns or blockages that mess up our lives and hamper our growth. No, wait! You don’t need a time machine for this. There are practicing past life regression therapists who can guide you back to the past (whether within this life, or to other lives) and help you become aware of the source of your troubles. And becoming aware is akin to winning half the battle!

How does one go back to the past?

Past life regression therapy is a kind of hypnotherapy in which the client is eased into a state of deep relaxation, so as to be able to connect to the subconscious mind. Thereafter, the therapist regresses the client back to his or her past. Interestingly, the subconscious mind knows where exactly to rewind to – the root of the current problem. The result is that one is able to untie the knot, connect to the Universal mind, and download healing.

Legitimacy of past life regression therapy

It’s not all mumbo jumbo! There are worldwide umbrella organisations that certify past life regression therapists, and maintain integrity and standards in professional practices in this field, such as the International Board for Regression Therapy (IBRT). These organisations educate and train people in this field, and help maintain best practices.

Whatever we do, we do in the now, even healing the past. So go back to your past, and heal it now!

“Understand the nature and influence of repeating patterns, from childhood experiences or even from past lives. Without understanding, patterns tend to repeat, unnecessarily damaging the relationship.”

                                                                                                                                ― Dr Brian L. Weiss

Anjali Nayyar

Reiki, Theta, and Aura Healer
An MA in Sociology of Health Care from Warwick University, UK, Anjali was interested in reiki healing since a long time. Even her final dissertation was on the acceptance of reiki as a complementary therapy for cure. Coming from a household of doctors and having a spiritual bent of mind (she now understands that the material and the spiritual are just two ends of the same continuum), she tried her hand at reiki, theta, and aura healing, and was smitten! Currently, Anjali is into a modality called Serenity Surrender, which emphasises healing of the self (soul).
