By writing for us, you can make a difference, touch lives, reach out to a huge base, and expand your repertoire and skills – all with no pressure!

Guidelines:

  • We believe a healthy lifestyle should be top priority for everyone. Our focus is health – physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, social, and sexual.
  • Write to us with inspiring stories (yours or someone else’s), how-to pieces (recipes, yoga poses, anxiety relievers…whatever floats your boat) etc.
  • Talk to us about the benefits of avocado or decoding aura reading…it turns us on.
  • If you think there are topics we need to talk about that we haven’t yet, feel free to send in suggestions – in the form of an article.
  • We are young, and we write for the youth. Set the tone with your sass, but don’t be classist, racist, sexist, or any other kind of –ist.
  • Ultimately, your goal should be to motivate and inspire people to live and think positively.
  • Please note that the person who submits the story will be the author of the article.

Dos and Don’ts:

  • We advocate moderation. Your articles should reflect the same.
  • The articles should be in UK English.
  • Send us at least 1 picture with each article (see guidelines for photo submissions).
  • Word count should be between 600 and 1000 words.
  • Let your tips be bite-sized and actionable. Let people know that living healthy does not equal difficult.
  • Be specific. Eg: ‘Replace butter with avocado in your sandwich’, instead of ‘eat healthy’.
  • Send complete articles. Include a title, citations, and sources from where you have taken the information, your headshot, a short bio (around 120 words), and links to your website and/or social media pages.
  • Don’t be a copycat. Send submissions on original topics, and in your words. Plagiarism will not be tolerated. There will be legal consequences to you/healthhunt if you plagiarise, so when in doubt, always cite.
  • Make sure your work has been fact checked.
  • Run your article through www.quetext.com before you send your submission.
  • We don’t like judgement. Neither in tone, nor in information. Please keep that in mind.
  • Don’t plug products or services, please.

Specifics:

  • Workout Posts – Whether it is a yoga pose, or an article for building great biceps, write detailed instructions. Each activity should have a photo. We will be happy to include a (short) video if you have one.
  • Recipes – Start by writing a few lines about the dish (why you like it, the health benefits of it etc.), give exact measurements for the ingredients, and detailed instructions for preparation. Add an original photograph.
  • Mental Wellbeing – When writing on this, don’t assume the reader is familiar with depression, meditation, or any other aspect of mental wellbeing that you might be writing about.
  • Success Stories (or other personal articles) – Start from the beginning, include your feelings at each step, show your motivation, and tell us the end result.

Photo and Video Guidelines:

  • All submissions need to have at least 1 photograph, of at least 450 x 300.
  • All images need to be of a good quality, and labeled properly.
  • We strive to maintain consistency, and to that end, please see the following:
  • Try and use the landscape format.
  • Nothing better than natural light for photographs!
  • In case of photos for recipes, try to use neutral backgrounds, surfaces, tableware, and cutlery.
  • In case of workout poses, the best shots come out in an outside environment (example: a park).
  • The photograph should not be under or over-exposed.
  • Look at the image before you submit it. Are you happy with it? Is it too one-dimensional? Does it have enough colour? Does it have too much colour? Is it pleasing to the eye?
  • If submitting a video, make sure to edit all extraneous and extra footage.
  • Videos should be well-lit, and well-shot.
