Are you constantly distracted, anxious, stressed, occupied, and yet not productive? 10 minutes of meditation, daily, can make a difference.
Most people roll their eyes at the idea of meditation for time management. However, try spending the 10 minutes you waste daydreaming (‘zoning out’), on meditative visualisation/affirmation, or ‘pulling the plug’ to reboot. It could be the decisive difference between being busy and being occupied. Not everyone who’s busy is actually productive. We’ve all had those days when we’ve done things; but without being able to cross them off our to-do list. Mindful meditation can help your grey cells refresh and ‘regroup’, because being too used to one way of working through your day can make you forget that there are better time-efficient attitudes to employ. Some are described below.
This is for everyone who said that romance novels are full of crap. You were wrong.
Romance novels are such mood-lifters. They have a way of portraying real life complexities, embellished with some ‘fairy dust’. The dramatic language is familiar to us more than we know; because we speak to ourselves in the same fashion. Not all romance novels revolve around unrealistic storylines; some actually reinforce what we believe, but don't have the confidence to act upon.

Do you have alcohol left over from a party, and are you too hungover to drink it? Then I have some good news for you. Don’t throw away that extra alcohol, because it can be surprisingly handy. All you need to do is put your mind to it. Hey, don’t stereotype alcohol! It is so much more than a drink. We are alcoholists, and we’re fighting for its rights. A mixture of vodka and water acts as a fantastic multi-purpose spray for cleaning windows. Vodka can also be mixed with vinegar, water, and your favourite essential oil to keep odours away from fabrics you cannot wash, like your couch. It can remove that thrift-store smell from your clothes, and also remove sticky labels from jars and bottles. Gunk on your glasses? Again, vodka has it taken care of. Just a dab on the cleaning cloth, and you’re done!
Gin is great for your engagement ring! Just take a little gin in a bowl, and soak your gem in it for about 5 minutes. Now clean the stone and the setting with a soft-bristled toothbrush, and rinse it clean with cold water. Mind you, this works for jewellery that has gemstones like ruby, diamond, and sapphire that are set in metals like gold, white gold, rose gold, and platinum only.
This one is an interesting trick – soak the red wine stained portion in a little white wine, and then apply a baking powder paste. Let it soak for about 3 hours. Now wash the fabric as normal, using a good detergent. Please note that this should only be tried with fabrics like cotton or polyester; in case of delicate and expensive fabrics like silk, it is advised that you get a professional cleaning done.
Crush 2-3 leaves of rosemary, and mix it with ½ a cup of vodka. Let the mixture rest for 2 days, then wash your hair with it.
This little trick works especially in cases of onion odours. Try rubbing a little whisky on that cutting board, to get rid of the stink.
