Life is too short to stay in bed after the break of dawn!

If the above statement sounds too preachy to you, you have not experienced the miraculous benefits of waking up early. The quaint, golden hours of the morning a can be life-changing for you, given you spend them mindfully.  

Here are 8 things you should do before 8 AM, to win the day:

1. Hydrate


After being on hours-long water fast, the best thing you could do to your body is to hydrate it. Start your day by having a tall glass of water, ideally lukewarm. It will help your body flush out toxins and replenish the lost fluids. If you can, do add lemon juice to it as drinking water warm with lemon on an empty stomach has umpteen health and beauty benefits. Additionally, it can also help you get rid of those nasty hangover symptoms like a headache, nausea, and acidity.

So, when life gives you lemons, save them for the morning after.

2. Meditate




We all do a hundred things to detox our body and skin, but we tend to forget about our mind, the most precious and powerful tool that makes us human. Meditation helps in detoxifying your mind of all the stress and anxiety. Dedicating an hour or half to meditation during morning can help you start your day with a fresh, clear, and happy mind.

3. Exercise


Like most of the working professionals, do you also hit the gym after office and then come back and crash in your bed? Well, then you are not working in the best interest of your health. Exercising late in the evening can hinder with your night’s sleep. But, when you hit the gym in the morning, you are energetic throughout the day and burn more calories than usual. Also, gyms are often emptier early in the morning, so you can get all the personal attention from your gym instructors.

4. Eat breakfast

Breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day, but most us have it hurriedly and often grab just a bite or few. Breakfast should be a wholesome, full meal. When you sit down to have your breakfast by 8 AM, you can enjoy a healthy and hearty meal and your body actually reaps the goodness of breakfast.

5. Skincare routine


Morning skincare routine is as crucial as night-time skincare routine. Follow a basic cleansing, toning, and moisturising routine every morning, to wake your skin up. Also, don’t forget to apply sunscreen, if you’re planning to step out of your house.

6. Make a schedule




Make a rough timetable for the entire day and adhere to it, as far as you can. Jot down what you want to accomplish in a day and how do you plan to do it. This will help you stay organised and achieve more.

7. Read


Bring back the good old habit of reading the newspaper in the morning. Incorporating this simple practice in your routine can enhance your personality multifold by sharpening your mind, keeping you up-to-date, and polishing your vocabulary.

8. Spend time with your loved ones


If you live away from your family, phone them. If you stay with them, spend time with them in person. Especially, your parents and grandparents, as there can be nothing better than starting the day with the blessings of people who will always love you unconditionally.
